Why Are YOU Green? SGW’s annual program and Wild Boar Awards

Environmentalists, families, friends, teachers and others packed Druker Auditorium for this lively evening where students from many schools come together to help the environment!  This is our annual spring program produced and hosted by Students for a Greener World (SGW), Green Decade’s student group, as part of the Greening Our Community Series. Students of all ages from 5 Newton schools presented

  • Green living projects from Cabot and Countryside elementary schools
  • F.A. Day Green Club’s trash audit
  • Composting benefits with Dirty Boys Composting (Newton South)
  • Greengineer activities and EnviroJAM 2015 (Newton North)
  • Students for a Greener World’s interaction with schools and other organizations in Newton

The 3rd Annual Wild Boar Awards were also presented to adults who have encourage and promoted students’ environmental actions.  Each one received a certificate of appreciation and a parsley plant from SGW – parsley signifiying “festivity” in the language of plants!
